American social scientist BJ Fogg talks about behavior prompts and how to hack them in his book Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything.

In the fourth chapter, “Prompts—The Power of After”, Fogg introduces three main types of prompts: person prompts, context prompts, and action prompts. He then explores action prompts further by explaining how to use them in behavior sequences to create new habits that stick.
